(Agency)Advisor  RCA-Rural Career

Finding Inspiration in Every Turn

Introduction

RCA stands for Rural Career Advisor (Agent). LIC introduced this scheme to appoint agents in rural or semi-urban areas and provide them with training, stipend support, and commission-based earning opportunities.

Benefits

  • Monthly stipend during the training/initial period, along with commission on business.

  • Opportunity to work in your own local rural area.

  • Support and attachment with LIC Development Officers (Your Mentor) for training and guidance.

  • Income can grow with policy sales and renewals, so earnings are performance-based.

Career Opportunity

RCA can be a good entry-level career for rural youth who want to build a business-style income in insurance. It offers experience in sales, customer service, financial planning, and long-term client relationship work. Over time, a successful RCA can build a stable income through commissions and agency growth.

Qualification

  • Minimum educational qualification: 10th pass.

  • Age is commonly shown as 18 to 35 years, with some sources noting relaxed limits for reserved categories.

  • The candidate should generally be from a rural area and willing to work there.

  • Selection usually includes training and an IRDAI-related examination or aptitude process, depending on the scheme rules in force.

In simple words

RCA is a LIC job opportunity for rural people to become insurance agents, earn stipend and commission, and grow into a long-term career in the insurance field.
